It began in 1914 after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and lasted until 1918. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers (1) · This is a written work discussing personal projects and studies in horticulture, and how passionate interests can make a difference in the way we handle negative situations. It isn't all I had wanted it to be, but I think it still delivers the message I wanted to get across. I originally was going to do the history of chemical warfare. (1) · Originally, I wanted to just print out pictures of the teachers I've had and get some tracing paper and trace it onto the canvas. (1) · The first project I had decided on was to make a book of simple pleasures, in order to create something that could have a positive impact on both me and other people. In a way I came back around to that same theme although centralized on gardening and horticulture. (1)

I decided to change the way I sketched the paintings. I had talks with Karner and Foshee about how I could make this project better. They asked why I was tracing instead of drawing it myself. I took a couple of days to process that as well. Why was I doing that? It always felt like I was a fake ever (1) · I had to change from a tri-fold like presentation to a slideshow which honestly in hindsight worked a lot better and I was able to fit a lot more information on it. (1) · Things absolutely did not go as planned, and I changed my project idea multiple times. In the end, a combination of procrastination, executive dysfunction, depression, and inability to focus left me with nothing to work with and little time to put something together. I learned that Germany's at fault for bring Lenin into Russia which was a really risky move that I'm not entirely sure was worth it. (1) · I learned to stay true to my style and trust the process. Also how I need to realize that I'm not going to be a professional painter/artist overnight. Also stop giving myself such a hard time. (1) · The project is nothing like I pictured it would be in the beginning, but I think that's okay. The purpose of capstone was to get us to do something new, and, in kind of an indirect way, I have done that. Hopefully that will be enough. Nothing about this end to my senior year is really satisfying or (1)
