My capstone project was an indoor irrigation system for the plants on top of the book shelves in the Commons. My initial idea was to document the process of becoming a shift supervisor at Starbucks, but because my store was in need of a supervisor and everyone I worked with was waiting on me to turn 18 so I could promote anyway, I ended up skipping a lot of the process. I have been super excited about presenting everything I have learned working at Starbucks and promoting within the company since we heard about the capstone project at the end of our sophomore year! It felt like I had to completely change my project. I had to downsize everything and almost start over. I lost the capability to set up the system how I had originally designed it. In order for the new system to work I had to completely change the way that the water was going to flow to the plants. (1)

As I put this project together (gather photos and look through artifacts) I am realizing more and more that my coworkers are the best part of my job. As I started going I learned I just like really only doing graphic work and also making one at a time. Not involving my other interest (as much as I love photography), but just focusing on one thing—it’s nice and more fun for me that way. I think my biggest take away is that although my work isn (1) ·
I did the best that I could with the time that I had. I made a system that worked and that watered my plants. It is not nearly as fancy or sophisticated as I had originally planned on it being, but I still made it happen and I am proud of it. It was a struggle and a half to completely spin and start (1)
