Don't be too hard on yourself. If you don't meet your own expectations, or anyone else's, that isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world. Room for improvement is just that. Don't get to attached to your first idea, because it's going to change and one thing I had to let go, well try to let go, was my need to have everything be perfect, because it won't be perfect but you have to still do it and can't give up. (1) ·

It's 100% okay to change your mind. And not know what you're going to do at first. I was super nervous about it and had no idea what to do. Just try some things out! (1) ·

My capstone is my depop shop. I started making jewelry sophomore year, and selling it. This year I expanded it by learning other skills, such as sewing stuffed animals and embroidery. My project is about canine health and how I helped my dogs with common sicknesses or injuries that they could have gotten from walks or going to the dog park. (1) ·

At first my project revolved around wire-wrapping and jewelry in general, and then I realized I enjoy making earrings more. So it was going as planned, and I even had a backup which is my book I'm writing but I didn't finish my book in time and I wasn't really impressed my how I wrote in my blog, so I changed it to my depop shop, that way all my work is the same but just presented in a different fashion. (1) ·

Things absolutely did not go as planned, and I changed my project idea multiple times. In the end, a combination of procrastination, executive dysfunction, depression, and inability to focus left me with nothing to work with and little time to put something together. I learned that everyone struggles with personal stuff, and that you shouldn't procrastinate everything. (1) ·
I learned that not all dog breeds are the same with sicknesses or even injuries, I also learned how to sanitize properly and safely for animals. The takeaways were having to realize that not all you try to save might make it, but at least you tried and gave them hope at the end. (1) ·
I learned that you shouldn't be afraid to put yourself out there. My takeaway is that this project is very important to me. (1) ·

I, weirdly enough, learned something about confidence, which I just wasn't expecting considering this is a project about creating jewelry. I felt pride in something I had created and I got excited to show people it. It's been a minute! I absolutely loved learning a new skill and using my hands. (1) ·

The project is nothing like I pictured it would be in the beginning, but I think that's okay. The purpose of capstone was to get us to do something new, and, in kind of an indirect way, I have done that. Hopefully that will be enough. Well I learned how to embroider, and a bunch of other little skills like that. I also have been able to explore subcultures that I enjoy through fashion, and making mainly jewelry based off of them. It, over all, was a really fun project and I got to know myself better through it. (1)
