My project is a song that I've been working on since the beginning of September. It started out as a simple chord in a certain key signature and evolved greatly from that. My project is about fire and its effect on humanity. Fire has shaped us since the very beginning, it was the first ever technological advancement that literally sparked everything for us. Fire is even theorized to be the reason we had the ability to evolve into what we are today. (1) ·
This project is a brief history on the subject of intolerance and racism. Many racial crimes and histories have been buried and replaced with perfect stories that idealize white men. In this project I expose the buried truths that have been ignored for centuries, so people can understand the origin (1)

I originally started out with an idea to create a book about the physio-psychological impacts of music. But as time went on I kept gravitating towards piano and eventually decided to make a song on piano instead. (1)

After deciding not to write the book, I felt more comfortable and natural making my capstone with a piano rather than a pencil. I started spending hours at the piano at home. I live very close to Greenwood and my teacher pointed out how vastly important the anniversary was. I felt a responsibility to honor the deaths and educate others on how to prevent these tragedies in the future. (1) ·
I was originally going to talk more about how it affects us in modern day but it's not as interesting as the history and fire sadly isn't used that much in the daily lives of modern people. (1)

Overall I've learned that I'm capable of writing sheet music. I've improved my playing skills and I've also greatly improved my sheet music skills.
