I chose my senior capstone to be about photography and my progression within that. I’ve picked up technical shooting skills and am building a portfolio. My project is about fire and its effect on humanity. Fire has shaped us since the very beginning, it was the first ever technological advancement that literally sparked everything for us. Fire is even theorized to be the reason we had the ability to evolve into what we are today. (1)

I was going to be volunteering at a local children’s museum. My capstone about this was to discuss the importance and livelihood of service to the community. (1)
Capchange:
Due to lack of enrichment and work, I decided to change my capstone to photography. Luckily enough, I had already been attending a photo class. Ms. Butcher took me under her wing right away to help brainstorm and envision how to build a portfolio and give an artist statement. (1) ·
I made everything available to the public online and made a media out of it. It was actually better than I imagined and far more accessible. (1) ·
I was originally going to talk more about how it affects us in modern day but it's not as interesting as the history and fire sadly isn't used that much in the daily lives of modern people. (1)
Capreflection:
I learned to tackle my computer better. I learned how to make a website and that was not really what I had in mind, but I came out with a better outcome from this. It was trial and error. (1) ·
I really want to cook now, knowing the impact it has had on my ancestors. Also research can be fun. (1) ·
Our generation sadly cares more about passing than learning, though I don’t know who’s fault it is. (1)
