I have been a Starbucks Partner for over two years, of that I was a barista for 11 months, a trainer for 9 and a Supervisor for the last 6. My project is about fire and its effect on humanity. Fire has shaped us since the very beginning, it was the first ever technological advancement that literally sparked everything for us. Fire is even theorized to be the reason we had the ability to evolve into what we are today. (1) ·
My project is basically just a slide show explaining how high school helped me realize that mental illness is very real, and how it helped me find my passion for helping people. It also helped me decide what I want my future career to be. (1)

My initial idea was to document the process of becoming a shift supervisor at Starbucks, but because my store was in need of a supervisor and everyone I worked with was waiting on me to turn 18 so I could promote anyway, I ended up skipping a lot of the process. I was originally going to talk more about how it affects us in modern day but it's not as interesting as the history and fire sadly isn't used that much in the daily lives of modern people. (1) ·
It's kind of similar, but my original idea was based on in person interaction so to change it to be solely online was pretty disappointing. I was still able to get my main point across with relevancy to my career, but I wish it could've been done differently. (1)

As I put this project together (gather photos and look through artifacts) I am realizing more and more that my coworkers are the best part of my job.
