Don't rush your Senior year! I was so excited for Senior year to start so that I could be done with high school. When my last year ended abruptly due to Covid-19 I realized that I wasn't ready for it to be over. I yearned to walk down the halls one last time.

I've always loved working with kids! I've been volunteering at Mark Twain Elementary for years with my previous teachers and with my youth group. Well essentially its my photography portfolio. All images are black and white film dark room prints that have been scanned in; other than one color film negative scan. I decided to volunteer with elementary school kids at Mark Twain Elementary and later on at the Common Good. (1) ·

The core of it went well and I'm pleased with my portfolio. However, as an extra thing I had wanted to include a video to play alongside my portfolio at the capstone booth that would've been essentially a sped up slideshow of all my negatives. Early childhood education is often overlooked as an easy babysitting job when in reality it's far from it. Early educators have the responsibility to prepare their class to be successful learners in upcoming years. It's crucial to have achieved such skills as: knowing the abc's, counting, reading, a (1) ·
I learned I actually really enjoy color film and I think I'll be using it a lot more often now. (1) ·
I wouldn't say I have any takeaways from the capstone itself, but I do think it served as a catalyst to hone in on my photography. (1) ·
