My capstone project was an indoor irrigation system for the plants on top of the book shelves in the Commons. The first project I had decided on was to make a book of simple pleasures, in order to create something that could have a positive impact on both me and other people. In a way I came back around to that same theme although centralized on gardening and horticulture. (1)

Honestly I changed my plan a lot, I was supposed to make a magazine, I ended up making a little online portfolio. But also to add I think this turned out way better then I thought, as I started getting paid for my design work as I started to work with more people. (1) ·
It felt like I had to completely change my project. I had to downsize everything and almost start over. I lost the capability to set up the system how I had originally designed it. In order for the new system to work I had to completely change the way that the water was going to flow to the plants. (1) ·
Things absolutely did not go as planned, and I changed my project idea multiple times. In the end, a combination of procrastination, executive dysfunction, depression, and inability to focus left me with nothing to work with and little time to put something together. As I started going I learned I just like really only doing graphic work and also making one at a time. Not involving my other interest (as much as I love photography), but just focusing on one thing—it’s nice and more fun for me that way. I think my biggest take away is that although my work isn (1) ·
I did the best that I could with the time that I had. I made a system that worked and that watered my plants. It is not nearly as fancy or sophisticated as I had originally planned on it being, but I still made it happen and I am proud of it. It was a struggle and a half to completely spin and start (1) ·
The project is nothing like I pictured it would be in the beginning, but I think that's okay. The purpose of capstone was to get us to do something new, and, in kind of an indirect way, I have done that. Hopefully that will be enough. Nothing about this end to my senior year is really satisfying or (1)
