Don't rush your Senior year! I was so excited for Senior year to start so that I could be done with high school. When my last year ended abruptly due to Covid-19 I realized that I wasn't ready for it to be over. I yearned to walk down the halls one last time.

Honestly I changed my plan a lot, I was supposed to make a magazine, I ended up making a little online portfolio. But also to add I think this turned out way better then I thought, as I started getting paid for my design work as I started to work with more people. (1) ·

Not everything went exactly as I planned it! While I didn't ever change the premise of my Capstone, I had a lot of issues with productivity and eventually, a lack of supplies. Things absolutely did not go as planned, and I changed my project idea multiple times. In the end, a combination of procrastination, executive dysfunction, depression, and inability to focus left me with nothing to work with and little time to put something together. As I started going I learned I just like really only doing graphic work and also making one at a time. Not involving my other interest (as much as I love photography), but just focusing on one thing—it’s nice and more fun for me that way. I think my biggest take away is that although my work isn (1) ·
Early childhood education is often overlooked as an easy babysitting job when in reality it's far from it. Early educators have the responsibility to prepare their class to be successful learners in upcoming years. It's crucial to have achieved such skills as: knowing the abc's, counting, reading, a (1) ·
I learned that it is a lot harder to do something than to say you're going to do them. I wanted to compensate for what I felt insecure about, and struggled a lot because of it. I think my takeaway, really, is to pace myself. I would go between periods of excess and then nothing at all, and felt a lo (1) ·

The project is nothing like I pictured it would be in the beginning, but I think that's okay. The purpose of capstone was to get us to do something new, and, in kind of an indirect way, I have done that. Hopefully that will be enough.
