The premier performing jazz group at TSAS, Jazz I is a select group of musicians based upon audition or approval from the director. This ensemble participates in jazz festivals, OkMEA Jazz auditions, Green Country Jazz auditions, as well as full ensemble competitions. Coursework included the preparation of ensemble music, audition materials, basic theory, as well as supplemental materials. Travel is a possibility for this group and therefore, fund raising is a priority in order for the ensemble to afford expenses. Instrument rental program available.
