Need to reserve a ChromeCart? The Commons? Here's how to do it!

To reserve a cart

Click "Rooms" to display available resources
  1. Create an event in your TSAS.org calendar with the name of your class and the precise time you'll be using the resource
  2. Before saving, click "Rooms" on the right, then select the resource you wish to reserve. If the resource is reserved elsewhere, it will be greyed out
  3. Save the event!

To add the Chromecart Calendars to Your Own

If you would like to see the current usage in your own calendar, visit the display next to the library's circulation desk or follow the directions below.

  1. Click the plus sign next to "Other Calendars" on the left side of your calendar screen, then click "Browse Resources"
  2. Choose all resource calendars you would like to add
  3. You will now see two identical events appear in your Google calendar: one under your calendar, and one in the calendar for the resource you reserved

To change your reservation

The resource calendar event will "follow" the event in your calendar, so simply move/delete the event in your calendar to change your reservation. It will prompt you if you collide with another reservation.

To retrieve the ChromeCart for use

  1. Send a single student to the front office for a key (they are color-coded: yellow for Chromecart 1, blue for Chromecart 2) in the cubbies to the left of the mailboxes
  2. Student should unplug cart from the wall in the commons and double-check the display to make sure they are taking the correct cart
  3. Student should use the elevator if necessary
  4. Make note of the number of ChromeBooks in the cart before passing out to your class

No need to plug the cart in during a single class; the batteries are very good!

To return the ChromeCart

  1. Count the number of ChromeBooks before dismissing the class (do not worry about the serial numbers on the slots; Stallings will take care of that when necessary). If it doesn't match your initial number, let Stallings know
  2. Give the key to a student and send them to the Commons with the cart and instructions to:
    1. Return the cart to the wall below the checkout display
    2. Plug in the cart
    3. Return the key to the front office
